Since my personal favorite part of any good party is the food, here are 18 Super Bowl Party Dessert Ideas that are sure to please a crowd for your next festive game day party!

What Makes a Great Super Bowl Party Dessert?

When I think of the most popular game day desserts, Super Bowl Party desserts, or even tailgating desserts in general, they all have a few things in common.

  • They’re easily grabbed. Say it with me now– FINGER FOOD! If it can be grabbed and eaten without taking your eyes off of the television screen while the Super Bowl game is on, it’s a winner.
  • They’re often the most popular dessert flavors. More often than not, it’s probably chocolate. And if it’s not chocolate, it’s vanilla. But mainly, it’s chocolate.
  • They’re easy to make. Cookies, brownies, cupcakes, or even cannoli dip— oftentimes the simplest things to make are the fan-favorites.

Without further ado, here are my Top 18 Super Bowl Party Dessert Ideas that are sure to please a crowd for your next game day celebration!

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies

1. Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies

One of the most common mistakes I see a lot of recipes make is not including one of the best and most commonly found ingredients out there– salt! If you thought your baked good or dessert was good, I promise you the smallest pinch of salt can take it to the next level. Salt has the magical ability of bringing out flavors that are already present in your kitchen creation!

Picture a warm, gooey chocolate chunk cookie… then imagine it being four times better. That’s what salt can do. It brings out all of the best qualities of chocolate chip cookies by balancing the sweetness already present in the recipe. You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Football-Shaped Fudge Brownies

2. Football-Shaped Rich Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Recently I’ve rediscovered my love of brownies. For the longest time, I could only make a brownie I absolutely LOVED out of a box mix. That is, until I found the perfect, chewy brownie recipe.

Brownies shouldn’t be cakey and dry. The perfect brownie is gooey, moist, and chewy. Turning them into footballs is as easy as getting a football cookie cutter and piping on some white frosting for the laces. So easy! And everyone loves a good brownie! You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Everything But The Kitchen Sink Cookie Bars

3. Everything-But-The-Kitchen-Sink Cookie Bars

If you’ve never heard of “everything but the kitchen sink” cookies, boy have you been missing out. These cookie bars are the perfect combination of sweet and salty packing into an ready-to-eat cookie bar.

These cookie bars include pretzels, chocolate chips, potato chips, and whatever else your heart desires. These are sure to have party goers coming back for seconds! You find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Sugar Cookie Cake with Buttercream Frosting

4. Sugar Cookie Cake with Buttercream Frosting

Sugar cookies have always been my personal favorite because I’ve always had the biggest sweet tooth. They’re also ridiculously easy to make and absolutely customizable to your Super Bowl team’s colors.

Sugar cookie cakes are especially popular with the kiddos. The sweet sugar cookie cake base is decorated with buttercream frosting (most likely, American buttercream) for an extra sweet finish. However, the buttercream frosting can be made into the team colors of your choice with the use of food coloring. I prefer to use food color gels because I find they result in a more vibrant color than if I were to use liquid food colorings. You can find the recipe here

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

5. Fudgy Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Fudgy chocolate crinkle cookies are another popular one! The insides of this chocolate crinkle cookie is soft and moist, similar to the consistency of a brownie.

The classic crinkle look is achieved by rolling the raw cookie dough in powdered sugar before baking the cookies. Once the crinkle cookies are in the oven, the cookie dough grows and expands a bit to create that classic crinkle look! You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Brown Butter Cereal Treats

6. Brown Butter Cereal Treat Bars

Marshmallow cereal treats are definitely one of the easiest sweet snacks you can make for the Super Bowl! You can color these treats to match your team’s colors by simply adding food coloring to your melted marshmallows before mixing in the Rice Krispies.

If you want to make these sweet snacks even better, I suggest browning the butter a bit before turning it into your cereal treat bars! Brown butter is absolutely delicious and will bring your cereal treat game to the next level. You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Chocolate-Covered Pretzel Rods

7. Football-Inspired Chocolate-Covered Pretzel Rods

Did I say that cereal treats were one of the easiest Super Bowl party desserts? Well, these chocolate-covered pretzel rods definitely rank up there too. It cannot be any simpler than dipping store-bought pretzel rods into melted chocolate, and everyone loves a delicious salty-sweet flavor combination!

Much like a few of our other Super Bowl party dessert ideas, these chocolate-covered pretzel rods are customizable in color! You can find different colored melting wafers that will match your team’s colors at craft stores like Michael’s or JoAnn’s in the baking section.

Alternatively, you can use white almond bark, white melting wafers, or white chocolate and color them yourself with oil-based food colorings! Keep in mind, if you want to color chocolate, the food coloring you use must be OIL-BASED, not water-based like most store-bought food colors. Check the ingredient list on your food coloring bottle to make sure water is not in the first three ingredients. If you do use a water-based food coloring in melted chocolate, it may cause the chocolate to seize up and clump together into an unusable mess. If you need a recipe for this, you can find one here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Football Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

8. Football-Inspired Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

If you’re already dipping pretzel rods in melted chocolate, you might as well throw a couple containers of fresh strawberries into your grocery cart too! Chocolate-covered strawberries are sweet and bright from the combination of rich chocolate and fresh fruit. The best part? They’re easily customizable into your Super Bowl team’s football colors, or you can turn them into little footballs by coating them in milk chocolate and finishing them with a bit of white chocolate piping. An easy Super Bowl party dessert you can even make with the kiddos! Again, if you need a recipe for this, you can find it here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Mini Chocolate Chip Cannoli Cups

9. Mini Chocolate Chip Cannoli Cups

These mini cannoli cups use store bought pie crust that is shaped and baked into small cups, then filled in a no-bake ricotta cheese filling and adorned with mini chocolate chips. These sweet mini desserts are perfect for snacking on when your eyes are glued on the big game, which makes them the perfect Super Bowl party dessert!

The best part about these mini chocolate chip cannoli cups is that the filling itself and the pie-crust cup shells can both be made ahead of time, and then assembled in a flash the morning of the big game. You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Football-Shaped Oreo Truffles

10. Football-Shaped Oreo Truffles

This particular dessert is very popular with my family! Every Christmas, we enjoy these easy 2-ingredient oreo truffles without fail. With cream cheese and pulverized oreos, you can make football-shaped oreo truffles as a cute Super Bowl party dessert addition. Then it’s as easy as melting a bit of chocolate and dipping the oreo truffles completely to encase the truffle. Finish it off with a little white piping and you’re ready for kickoff! You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Football-Shaped Chocolate Cupcake Pull-Apart Cake

11. Football-Shaped Vanilla Pull-Apart Cupcake Cake

I know what you’re thinking, this cake looks a little intimidating to make as a Super Bowl party dessert. I promise, it looks more intimidating than it actually is to make! This football-shaped cupcake pull-apart cake can be the flavor of your choice! For this football shape, using chocolate cupcakes matches better with the theme, but it’s ultimately up to you.

You’ll need a large rectangular cake board, a couple dozen chocolate cupcakes, a lot of chocolate frosting, and a bit of vanilla frosting. One helpful tip for making pull-apart cupcake cakes is to make sure you “glue” down your unfrosted cupcakes onto your cake board with a bit of extra frosting. This will prevent the cupcakes from moving around too much when you go to frost the tops with your chocolate frosting. You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Key Lime Pie Bars

12. Key Lime Pie Bars

Key lime pie bars are another classic, being born and raised in Florida. I’m fortunate to say that it’s nearly impossible for me to go to a local bakery and not find some kind of key lime pie variation on the menu. Even though it’s easy to get whiplash from figuring out whether or not the Tampa Bay Bucanneers will be making an appearance at the big game, it’s an easy decision to make these key lime bars one of our Super Bowl party desserts.

Key lime pie is a beloved combination of creamy, tart key lime filling and sweet graham cracker crust, often topped with whipped cream. These key lime pie bars are absolute crowd-pleasers in any party and would be perfect for a Super Bowl party. You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Cinnamon Sugar Soft Pretzel Bites

13. Cinnamon Sugar Soft Pretzel Bites

If I had to choose one recipe out of all of these Super Bowl party desserts to make myself, it would most definitely be these cinnamon sugar soft pretzel bites. They do require instant or active yeast which might scare off some folks, but the recipe is very straight-forward and anyone can make these! Every time I make these pretzel bites, I use a solid soft pretzel recipe and then change the forming process.

Instead of shaping full-sized pretzels, we roll the pretzel dough into long ropes and cut the dough into little one-inch nuggets. Once the dough is cut, we’ll boil the nuggets, bake them in the oven, roll them in a little melted butter, and then give them a final toss in a cinnamon-sugar mixture (with a pinch of salt added in, of course). After making these pretzels once, your friends and family will be begging for them every time you get together! You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Sea Salt Soft Pretzels with Cheese Dip

14. Sea Salt Soft Pretzels with Cheese Dip

As if I haven’t expressed my love for soft pretzels enough in the last Super Bowl sweet snack suggestion, here’s another soft pretzel variation for those who prefer a saltier pretzel. This recipe, however, includes a cheese dip that works perfectly with these salty soft pretzel nuggets.

If you’re already set on making those incredible and irresistible cinnamon-sugar soft pretzel bites as one of your Super Bowl party desserts, but would also like to make these salted soft pretzel nuggets too, you can always double your pretzel dough recipes to make both. Another option would be to make one batch of the pretzel dough, then set aside some of your buttered pretzel nuggets for those who want salty, while tossing the rest of your buttered pretzel nuggets in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. It’s a win-win, honestly. You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Cream Puffs

15. Cream Puffs Filled With Vanilla Pastry Cream

Our family loves cream puffs. Probably more than a normal family should. Cream puffs are made of hollow paté choux puffs that are filled with either a pastry cream, chantilly cream, or a diplomat cream. This dessert is slightly on the more technical and labor-intensive side for Super Bowl party desserts, but the pay-off is definitely worth it.

If you want to make your cream puffs even better, you can look up a craquelin recipe for your choux puffs. Craquelin is made of three ingredients– butter, sugar, and flour. After mixing your ingredients together, the craquelin is rolled out to about ⅛” and frozen. Once frozen, you can cut out little disks of craquelin to place on the top of your unbaked paté choux blobs before they are put into the oven. As a result, your cream puffs have a sweet, crunchy craquelin top that are well worth the extra effort. Craquelin can also be colored with food coloring to match your team’s colors! You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Lemon Bars with Shortbread Cookie Crust

16. Lemon Bars With a Shortbread Crust

Similar to the key lime pie bars, these lemon bars with a shortbread crust are a popular treat for our friends and family! Most of the time, we have far too many lemons in our kitchen than we know what to do with, so lemon bars are the obvious choice! I can’t think of a better why these lemon bars wouldn’t be the perfect Super Bowl party desserts. The shortbread cookie crust helps bring a bit of sweetness to balance the tart, zingy flavor of the lemon filling. You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Cinnamon Sugar Churro Bites

17. Cinnamon Sugar Churro Bites

Another fan favorite and one of the easiest Super Bowl party desserts to eat, these cinnamon sugar churro bites have only five ingredients! Churros are definitely a crowd-pleaser dessert, and they’re bound to be a hit at your Super Bowl party.

What’s the best way to serve cinnamon-sugar churro bites? With a dipping sauce (or three), of course! Some popular dipping sauces include hot chocolate fondue, warm Nutella spread, or a delicious salted caramel sauce– the possibilities are endless! You can find the recipe here.

Super Bowl Party Desserts – Old Fashioned Banana Pudding

18. Old Fashioned Southern Banana Pudding

I’m not quite sure where my family’s obsession with homemade banana pudding came from, but it’s definitely here to stay and will definitely be making an appearance as one of our own Super Bowl party desserts. This old fashioned southern banana pudding can be as labor and time-intensive as you want it to be! You can either make homemade banana pudding with eggs, heavy cream, sugar– the whole shebang.

Alternatively, you can cut the preparation time in half by using Jello banana pudding mix and store-bought whipped topping. Either way, it’s sure to be a definite crowd pleaser for your Super Bowl party! I should also mention that this is the only recipe on this list that you can’t just eat with your hands, so make sure you have plates and utensils! You can find the recipe here.
